Pharmacy Professor Sayed Daoud to Write About Cancer Research

PULLMAN, Wash.College of Pharmacy Professor Sayed Daoud has been named the editor of a new book titled “Cancer Proteomics: From Bench to Bedside,” to be published by Humana Press in March/April 2007.

Daoud’s research in cancer treatment currently combines proteomics and genomics. He has been studying breast cancer for almost 20 years and his most recent work has twice been funded by the U.S. Department of Defense and the national nonprofit Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

Proteomics and genomics are both branches of biotechnology using multidisciplinary approaches and new technology in the study of disease-related biomarkers among proteins and genes.

Daoud was asked by Humana Press to write and edit the new book, which will be part of the Humana Press book series titled “Cancer Drug Discovery and Development.” The company reports the series is one of its most popular products.

Humana Press, based in New Jersey, is a leading publisher of books and journals in molecular biology, neuroscience, cancer research and medicine.
