WSU Students Review Cornel West Book for Credit

Class readies students for author’s campus visit. Princeton professor, theologian, activist and author Cornel West will speak at Washington State University Feb. 10. And some 60 students will be well-versed in the subject matter thanks to a one-credit class reviewing his latest book “Democracy Matters.” The diverse group of students enrolled in the class received a free copy of West’s book and will get VIP seating at his lecture when he visits the Pullman campus as part of Black History Month. Faculty members Lisa Guerrero, David Leonard and Kelvin Monroe, doctoral candidate in interdisciplinary studies,

lead the class, offered through the comparative ethnic studies program. West may also visit the class while on campus.
