WSU Tri-Cities will present “Selections,” an exhibit of art by master’s and bachelor’s degree candidates, Nov. 28-Dec. 9.
The exhibit marks the re-opening of the Exhibition Center (Room 102) in the north Richland campus’ Consolidated Information Center. An artists’ reception is scheduled for 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 28.
“This is art in all media from WSU Pullman students working toward either their master of fine arts or bachelor of fine arts degree,” said Douglas Gast, exhibition coordinator and assistant professor of digital media at the Tri-Cities campus.
“The works are selected by faculty members in the fine arts department. In most cases, what we’ll display at the Tri-Cities show is the result of several years of intense work by the students,” Gast said. For most of the artists, this will be their first formal, professional gallery show.
“Selections” student artists include Daiken Asakawa, Alric Balka, Matt Bolan, Becky Earle, Chris Ireland, Erin Johnson, Roman Lystvak, Zach Mazur, Valerie Powell, Daniela Rumpf, Jennifer Scott, Jamie Marie Waelchli, Issei Watanabe and Vanessa Wimmer.
The Consolidated Information Center is open 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday. Parking is available in front of the center, which is wheelchair accessible. Admission is free to the public
