Nominations open for top employee awards

PULLMAN – WSU President V. Lane Rawlings this week announced the call for nominations for the 2005-2006 President’s Employee Excellence Awards. The call will be open through Dec. 14.

Established in 1990, the annual awards program recognizes outstanding contributions to the university by WSU administrative professional and classified employees from across the state.

Five employee excellence awards are now given annually. Recipients receive a plaque and cash award provided by the WSU Foundation and are recognized at the university’s annual “Celebrating Excellence” recognition banquet during spring semester. Award recipients for 2004-2005 were Linda Chesser, administrative manager and adviser in the Department of Women’s Studies; Keri Druffel, research technician III, Department of Plant Pathology; Debbie Hill, plant communication coordinator, Facilities Operations; Don Holbrook, area finance and administrative officer, Student Affairs; and Donna Robinson, program administrative manager, CUB catering and events.
Names of all winners are inscribed on a plaque that is permanently housed on the third floor of the French Administration Building.

Award recipients will be selected based on a review of nominations and the recommendations by the President’s Employee Excellence Awards Committee.

Nominations should focus on the outstanding contributions made by the employee regarding productivity of the unit; innovative problem solving; positive working relations with students, the public, and co-workers; and community service.

Nominations may be made Online or by using forms available for downloading at www.wsu.edu/president/excellence-awards.
