Cathy McMorris to speak at Veterans Day ceremony

Representative Cathy McMorris will speak at this year’s Washington State University Veterans Day Memorial Ceremony Friday, Nov. 11 on the WSU campus.

The annual ceremony is set for 11 a.m. to noon at the WSU Veterans Memorial, located on Veterans Way near Murrow Hall. Military veterans, past and present, will be honored at the public event. WSU President V.Lane Rawlins and Cpl. William Wegner are also scheduled to speak.

According to the Office of Veteran’s Affairs, there are 35 WSU students now serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. A number of veterans have recently returned to classes after having served in the Middle East.

A public procession, led by WSU bagpiper Joe Trudeau, will begin at10:45 a.m. at the Compton Union Building and will make its way to the
Veterans Memorial.
