PULLMAN, Wash.- The Washington State University Men’s Rowing Team will conduct its Rent-A-Rower fund raiser Sept. 24-25 and Oct. 8-9. The group will work from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day.
“We decided to do rent-a-rower because it allows us to build a connection with the community, bond with new teammates on jobs and build physical strength,” said Chris Seaman, the team’s vice commodore.
The team’s goal is to raise $2,500 for a new set of oars, $1,400 for two cox boxes or voice amplifiers, and $24,000 for a new eight-person racing shell.
The charge to rent a rower is $10 an hour per rower. People can hire as many rowers as they like. Jobs can last up to eight hours. Common jobs include landscaping, yard work, painting, staining, cleaning, help with moving and remodeling.
Scheduling takes place on a first come, first serve basis. To rent a rower, contact Seaman at (509) 334-2640 or rentarower@cougarcrew.com
