Original jewelry — the thesis exhibit of Anna-Maria Shannon, master of arts student and Museum of Art assistant director — will be on display at the CUB Gallery Sept. 13-30.
The works are inspired by religious jewelry from faiths such as Hinduism, Christianity, Islam and Wicca.
“My research is based on the significance of the symbolic nature of the original works,” Shannon said. “The exhibit is the physical manifestation of my research for the last 2 1/2 years. I’ve taken the spiritual elements of the original works and created a line of jewelry called ‘The Divine Line.’”
The gallery, located at the east end of the CUB on the first floor, is open free 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday-Friday.
