Environmental Health, Safety conference Aug. 11

WSU’s Environmental Health and Safety will host a conference for safety committees 2-4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 11, in the CUB Carey Ballroom. The event will include an award ceremony recognizing individuals who have made significant contributions to creating safer and healthier work environments. The conference will include keynote speaker Rick Gleason from UW Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences. Peggy Bagnoli of the Colleges and Universities Sector of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will present an award to WSU in recognition of the University’s outstanding Environmental Management System.  In addition, six breakout sessions will be offered as part of the conference, including workstation ergonomics, emergency planning, accident prevention plans, conducting workplace inspections, safety committee improvement, personal safety and security, and fire safety.
