WSU Vancouver Holds Installation of Sigma Xi Chapter

VANCOUVER, Wash. — Washington State University Vancouver will hold the first installation of members into its newly formed chapter of Sigma Xi from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, April 28 in the Engineering and Life Sciences Building second-floor atrium.

Speaking at the inaugural installation will be Sigma Xi Executive Director Patrick Sculley and Treasurer Richard Meyer, professor emeritus at the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville. All current and past members of Sigma Xi are invited to attend. To reserve a seat, RSVP to Kristin Hartlieb at (360) 546-9630. Lunch will be provided.

Sigma Xi (www.sigmaxi.org) is the international honor society of research scientists and engineers, with a distinguished history of service to science and society. The non-profit society includes some 70,000 scientists and engineers in more than 100 countries. Nearly 200 members have received the Nobel Prize.

Sigma Xi chapters, more than 500 in all, can be found at colleges and universities, government laboratories and industry research centers throughout North America and around the world.

WSU Vancouver is located at 14204 N.E. Salmon Creek Ave., east of the 134^th Street exit from either I-5 or I-205. Parking is available in the blue lot for $1.75 or at parking meters.
