School of Communication Announces Scholarship Recipients

PULLMAN, Wash. – The Washington State University Edward R. Murrow School of Communication has announced scholarship recipients for the 2005-2006 school year.

Recipients were recognized at the Murrow Symposium Awards Reception and Banquet April 13 at Beasley Performing Art Coliseum.

Scholarship winners include Tarah N. Alberg, a public relations major, received a $500 Jeri McDonald Endowed Scholarship; Joseph H. Barrentine, communication, $1,000 Newland W. Reilly Scholarship; Amber Birkhimer, journalism, $300 scholarship from the Journalism Development Fund, $1,000 Newland W. Reilly Scholarship, $4,000 Tri-Cities Herald/News Tribune of Tacoma Scholarship and $1,750 Seattle Times/Blethen Family Minority Scholarship; Patricia A. Carter, broadcast news, music and political science, $500 Communication 101 Scholarship, $1,500 Washington State Association of Broadcasters Scholarship and $1,500 Katie Whitworth Scholarship;  Nicole D. Cunningham, broadcast news and broadcast management, $1,500 Washington State Association of Broadcasters Scholarship and $900 Beatrice L. Fry Memorial Scholarship; Theresa F. Curry, communication and women’s studies, $1,000 Newland W. Reilly Scholarship; Erin M. Drake, public relations, $500 Jeri McDonald Endowed Scholarship; Monique R.
