Ford named vp for business, finance

W. Glenn Ford, the associate vice president for business and finance and associate vice president for student affairs administration at Washington State University, has been named as the new vice president for business and finance at Utah State University. Ford will begin his new duties July 11.

“We are excited to have Glenn join us,” Utah State University President Stan L. Albrecht said in a prepared news release. “He brings with him a great deal of good experience to benefit the university. His is a demanding job – one that requires a great deal of focus, expertise and energy. I believe we have just the person for the challenge.”

At USU, Ford will succeed Ron Godfrey, who will depart at the end of June for three years of missionary service with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

Ford said, “I am very grateful to Washington State University for the opportunities that I have been given. The experience I have gained and the mentoring so many have provided have allowed me to take this next step. I have never worked with a more dedicated and talented staff with a focus on building a culture of quality in an environment of trust and respect. I will miss each of them.”

“Glenn is a perfect fit for the position of vice president for Business and Finance at Utah State University,” said Greg Royer, WSU vice president for Business Affairs. “Glenn has been instrumental in the success of several programs here at WSU, and with his vast experience in the business and finance area, at both WSU and U of I, he has acquired the skills and experience necessary to perform at the vice president level.

“He has been a great asset for WSU. We certainly wish him well in his new appointment at Utah State University.

Ford has served in his current position since November 2001. In that role, he has overseen long-range auxiliary services capital planning and development, including the development of a financing strategy and the issuance of bonds, and has been responsible for oversight of a variety of multi-campus system financial functions of Washington State University.

Previously, Ford served as an assistant vice president for business affairs and, for more than four years, as director of finance and operations for Washington State University Vancouver. He also worked at WSU in the College of Pharmacy and the university budget office, as well as for the University of Idaho, where he earned both his bachelor’s and master’s of business administration degrees.
