VANCOUVER, Wash. — Washington State University Vancouver students, faculty, staff and campus neighbors will demonstrate their community pride March 31 and April 1 during the annual Cougar Pride Days campus clean up.
“This is a tangible way people can work together as volunteers to help to assure our campus is in tip-top shape. In addition, saluting the history of WSU and its outstanding faculty and staff will give the public a total picture of what a great university we have,” said WSU President V. Lane Rawlins.

This year will also mark the first Cougar Pride Barbecue, a celebration of Cougar Pride for everyone who participates.
“I’m delighted with the planned activities and look forward to bringing WSU Vancouver employees and community members together to help beautify the campus,” said Hal Dengerink, WSU Vancouver chancellor.
This university-wide event has historic roots dating back to the beginnings of WSU in the early part of the 20th century. Originally called “Campus Days,” it was a time in the school’s early days when trees were planted, sidewalks built and the appearance of the campus improved. It helped establish school spirit and Cougar pride.
