WSU Police Find Stolen TV, Pullman Man Arrested in Connection with Case

PULLMAN, Wash. — A 61-inch television stolen from the Physical Education Building at Washington State University was recovered Saturday, and a Pullman man has been charged in connection with the case.

According to a WSU police report, 24-year-old Shane M. Martin was arrested this weekend and booked into the Whitman County jail. Initially arrested by Pullman police at his C Street apartment on an unrelated forgery charge, Martin was subsequently charged with possession of stolen property in connection with the theft of the television. He is not a student at WSU.

WSU police obtained a warrant and recovered the television from Martin’s apartment after Pullman police officers reported noticing it there at the time of his arrest.

The television, valued at $3,500, and a Samsung VCR/DVD player were reported stolen from the building on the WSU campus last week. WSU Police said the VCR/DVD player taken at that time has not yet been recovered.

A $500 reward has been offered for the arrest and conviction of those connected with the burglary and theft. Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call Officer Jeff Olmstead with the WSU Police Department at (509) 335-4310. Anonymous information is also welcome.
