AWARDS & HONORS

• Photographer Robert Hubner, WSU Photo Services, recently received third place in the University Photographer’s Association of America’s monthly image contest in October. This was his first entry in the competition.

• Thomas I. Wahl, director of the WSU IMPACT Center, has been elected chair of the International Agricultural Trade Research Consortium. The main objective of IATRC is to enhance the quality and relevance of international agricultural trade research and policy analysis by encouraging collaborative research and communication among trade researchers, analysts, government agencies and the private sector. IATRC has more than 180 members from 25 countries.

• Rich Prill, with the WSU Extension energy program in Spokane, is one of two national winners of the 2004 Indoor Air Quality Tools for Schools Distinguished Service Award. Sponsored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the award recognizes individuals for efforts to protect indoor air quality for kids at school.

• WSU received the Washington Governor’s Award for Excellence in Energy Management from the state Department of General Administration. The award commends energy management strategies implemented by WSU that will be used as an example of what other public institutions should strive to accomplish.
