Ferdinand’s Creates Two Desserts For Apple Cup ‘04

Fans Get Two Dawgie Treats This Year. Ferdinand’s, Washington State University’s gourmet ice cream shop, will help put the campus in a competitive spirit for this year’s Apple Cup with two special desserts—one celebrating the longtime football rivalry between the two universities, the other celebrating a coach’s contributions to the sport. This week the outlet for Cougar ice cream and cheese is preparing the “Dirty Dog Sundae”—chocolate-peanut butter ice cream covered with chocolate syrup and topped with crushed Oreos—and in honor of the University of Washington coach Keith Gilbertson, the two-scoop “Goodbye Gilby Sundae”—one scoop each of strawberry and blackberry ripple ice cream, with the strawberry scoop covered with blackberry topping and the blackberry ripple scoop covered with strawberry topping. For more information on the weekend treats, contact Russ Salvadalena, WSU Creamery manager, at 509.335.7074.

Editor’s note: Ferdinand’s features old-fashioned ice cream and soda fountain treats, exclusive ice cream flavors and gourmet coffee and espresso drinks. It is located in the Food Quality Building on the WSU Campus, two blocks east of the Stadium Way tennis courts.
