Asian Tradition Revealed in Festival of Exotic Customs, Colors, Costumes

PULLMAN, Wash. — Washington State University will present 5,000 years of Asian traditions with “Dances of China: A Journey of 5,000 Years” at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 16 in the Beasley Coliseum Theater.

The 13-member company features guest artists from China, who perform both traditional and ethnic dances, such as “The Lantern Festival” and “Ma-Ying Blossoms.” The evening will also include a story dance called “The Dragon King,” a drama based on Chinese mythology that integrates dance, martial arts and acrobatics.
