Gable Receives WSU Award

PULLMAN, Wash. — Craig Gable was honored by the WSU Alumni Association with a Washington State University Alumni Achievement Award Oct. 15 at the Alumni Association Lifetime Members Reception in the Lewis Alumni Centre.

A past president of the alumni association (1998-99), his long-standing WSU interests on the alumni board of directors now include student recruitment and scholarship, diversity and addressing the special needs of students.

Gable has spent more than three decades as a senior management executive, including the last 10 years as director of human resources consulting for Moss Adams in its Seattle corporate office. It is one of the largest accounting and business consulting firms in the country, with 17 offices and some 900 employees in Washington, Oregon and California.

The Redmond resident was recruited to the alumni board by alumni president Marlene Fallquist (1993-94). “He had been an effective leader on other boards in Seattle. I thought his experience in the human resources profession would enhance the alumni board and the King County group,” Fallquist said.

After he graduated from WSU (’69 Gen. St. with a minor in business), he worked for Old National Bank, first in Spokane and later in Pullman for four years., before joining American Sign and Indicator Corp. in Spokane. He worked for six different companies prior to his hiring by Moss Adams.

At WSU he was vice president of the Interfraternity Council and was named outstanding senior in Sigma Nu Fraternity. In the mid-1970s he served on the executive board of the Pacific Northwest Personnel Management Association in Seattle.
