PULLMAN, Wash. — Washington State University Theatre Programs will audition actors, dancers and drummers Sept. 27, 29 and 30 for the African play “Death and the King’s Horseman.”
Auditions are open to the public and will be held in Daggy Hall’s Wadleigh Theatre. Drummers will audition at 7 p.m. Sept. 27. No instrument or training is required. Actors and dancers will audition at 7 p.m. Sept. 29 and at 4:30 p.m. Sept. 30. Call backs are set for 3 p.m. Oct. 3.
The cast will include seven or more black women, six or more black men, five or more black drummers, five or more white women and eight or more white men.

The play will be presented at WSU Feb. 3-5 and 10-12 at Jones Theatre in Daggy Hall.
Soyinka will be on the WSU campus for the opening night performance, which will include a “talk back” session. Femi Euba, an expert in African drama who has performed as an actor under Soyinka’s direction, will also be on campus. Euba will conduct workshops with the cast during the first week of rehearsal and will also return for the opening.
