“Crimes of the Heart” Opens WSU Theatre Season

PULLMAN, Wash. — Washington State University Theatre Programs will present “Crimes of the Heart,” the first in a series of fall plays, Oct. 7-9 and Oct. 14-16.

“Crimes of the Heart” is a warmhearted and imaginative play set in Hazlehurst, Miss., where the three MacGrath sisters have gathered to await news of the family patriarch, their grandfather, who is living out his last hours in a local hospital. The humorous story examines the plight of the three sisters betrayed by their passions.

The play won a 1981 Pulitzer Prize and the New York Drama Critics Circle Award.

All performances begin at 8 p.m. in Daggy Hall’s Jones Theatre. Tickets are $10 for adults, $7.50 for seniors and $5 for children and WSU students with ID. Daggy Hall Box Office hours are Wednesday through Friday from 2-5:30 p.m. the week of the event and an hour before curtain.
