Auditions for “Tales of Hans Christian Andersen”

PULLMAN, Wash. — Auditions will be held for the Missoula Children’s Theatre production of “Tales of Hans Christian Andersen” from 4-6 p.m. Sept. 27 at the Beasley Performing Arts Coliseum.

Those auditioning should arrive at 3:50 p.m. and plan to stay for the full two hour session. Some of the selected cast members will be asked to stay for a rehearsal immediately following the auditions. 

Among the roles to be cast are young Hans, older Hans, the players, villagers, misers, Ida and a bouquet of mischievous flowers. Students in grades K-12 are encouraged to audition. No advance preparation is necessary. Assistant directors will also be cast to aid in rehearsals throughout the week and to handle essential backstage responsibilities. Not everyone who auditions is guaranteed a part in the show.

Missoula Children’s Theatre touring productions are complete with costumes, scenery, props and makeup. The MCT tour actor and directors will conduct rehearsals throughout the week from 4-6 p.m. and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. each day.

“Tales of Hans Christian Andersen” will be presented Saturday, Oct. 2 at 7 p.m. in Beasley Coliseum and is sponsored by Pullman’s Holiday Inn Express Hotel and Suites.
