PULLMAN, Wash. — Washington State University’s Department of English is offering a three-credit summer course in creative writing that sends English 357 students in and around the Inland Northwest.
The 10-day course will focus on the creative process and the writer as an artist. One goal of the course is to immerse the student in the life of the writer.
Students can expect to spend 3-4 hours per day in the classroom learning craft and engaging in experiential creative work. They will also travel with faculty to attend area literary readings and to various sites in hopes that they inspire creativity or serve as primary resources for character and place development.
The writing course replaces the previously announced Port Townsend field course. There is no prerequisite and no added fee.
