Quarter Century Club adds 102 members

After 25 years of service, 102 members of the Washington State University faculty and staff will be inducted into the Quarter Century Club at their recognition breakfast on Tuesday, June 1, in the CUB Ballroom.

To be initiated into the club, members need to have worked at WSU for 25 years. Once they are inducted into the club, they will be recognized again 25 years later as half-century members, even if they have retired.

The first induction to the Quarter Century Club was in 1939 with 16 charter members and two inductees. This year marks the 71st anniversary of the club.

The former faculty member with the longest employment record at WSU is William Ackley, a resident of Pullman. The current faculty member with the longest employment record is John Gorham, a professor of veterinary microbiology and pathology who started at WSU in March 1948. The current classified staff member with the longest employment record is Earl Stuckel, a farm manager at WSU Prosser since April 1955.
