WSU Faculty, Students Present ‘A Recital of Women Composers’

PULLMAN, Wash. – The Washington State University School of Music and Theatre Arts will present “A Recital of Women Composers,” featuring student and faculty performances, at 8 p.m. March 23.

The concert, comprised of music from the 19th to 20th centuries, will be in Kimbrough Concert Hall and is free and open to the public.

A variety of music will be presented, including music written for voice, piano, brass, saxophone and cello. Numbers include “Il Matino” by Maria Malibran (1808-1836), “S’io t’amo?” by Teresa Senekè (1848-1875), “Into the Night” by Clara Edwards (1887-1974) “Lad and Lass” by Marion Bauer (1882-1955) and more.

Faculty participants include Susan Chan, Eugene Zenzen, Sheila Converse, Michelle Mielke and Julie Anne Wieck. Student performers include Jane Boothman, Mary Doornink, Katherine Jansen, Kelly Cornwall, Heather Raco, Holly Robinette, Tyler Evans, Julie Solbrack, Chris Siegmund, Sheila Zilar, Sara Stricherz, Melissa Fleming, Christopher Wang, Elena Panchenko, Matthew Collins, Cheryl Weiss, Meg Kelley, Gwen Tarr and Denise Snider.
