Tickets on Sale for “The Vagina Monologues”

PULLMAN, Wash. — Tickets are on sale to see the Washington State University V-Day production team and cast performance of the critically acclaimed “The Vagina Monologues” from Feb. 27-29.

Tickets are $5 for students and $7 for nonstudents and can be purchased at the West entrance of the Compton Union Building from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Starting Feb. 23, tickets will be sold at the Eating Disorders Awareness Week information table, also in the CUB.

A play by Eve Ensler, “The Vagina Monologues” celebrates women’s sexuality and strength by exposing the violations that women endure throughout the world. The play is based on Ensler’s personal experience with violence and her interviews with more than 200 women.

Proceeds from the play will benefit local organizations, including Alternatives to Violence of the Palouse, Polaris Project, the YWCA and Women’s Resource Center and the Missing and Murdered Women of Juarez, Mexico.

WSU students will be cast members in this production, with performances of the play held nationwide.

The V-Day College Campaign invites members of college and university communities around the world to present benefit productions of “The Vagina Monologues” on their campuses on or around V-Day (Feb. 14) to raise money and awareness to stop violence against women and girls.
