PULLMAN, Wash. — Washington State University will present a national touring production of “Singing In the Rain” at 3 p.m. Feb. 29 in the Beasley Performing Arts Coliseum.
“Singin’ in the Rain” has been brought to the stage in grand style. Like the film classic, the stage version is about making movies, specifically, that tumultuous time when Hollywood was making the change over from silent films to “talkies.” Careers came to an abrupt end when it was discovered that some gorgeous faces had impossible sounding voices.

The New Yorker magazine applauds the show, calling it “better danced than the movie, quite a feat! This production deserves to be noticed!” And the New York Times called it “perfectly irresistible–in a league of its own. An enthusiastic, glitzy revival.”
The new touring production will feature the original national tour set plus all of the props and costumes of the period. The show is said to have it all, including a spectacular set, sensational choreography and costumes, fun and scintillating music.
