Sixteen Tri-Cities area teachers are the first WSU students to qualify for and receive their Washington State Professional Teaching Certificates.
The new certificate requires teachers to demonstrate evidence of their competency in three areas: effective teaching, professional development and leadership. All teachers in Washington State eventually will have to qualify and earn the Professional Teaching Certificate.
This is the first class to qualify for certification from WSU, says Professor Marisol Rodrguez-Price, who coordinates the program at the Tri-Cities campus in the College of Education’s Department of Teaching and Learning.
