Nuthouse Idol: 15 Actors to Start, Only One to Finish

PULLMAN, Wash. — Washington State University’s Nuthouse Improv comedy group will perform its final two shows of the semester at 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday (Dec. 5-6) in Daggy Hall’s Jones Theatre.

The two shows, themed “Nuthouse Idol,” will feature 15 actors going head-to-head to become the ultimate “Improv Idol.”  As the Friday show progresses, the audience will vote actors off the stage until there are six performers standing. The final six will compete for the top prize Saturday.

The show will include three “American Idol”-like judges who will give their thoughts about the scenes.

This will be the last Nuthouse show for a number of seniors graduating this month.  They include director Brian MacMillan, David Sampson, Josh Evans and Tony Cole.

Nuthouse shows are live, interactive, in-your-face comedy shows with no scripts involved.  The actors make everything up based on audience suggestions.  Nuthouse is in its sixth year with WSU Theatre’s undergraduate group STAGE.

Tickets are $3 and go on sale at the door at 9 p.m. the night of the show.  STAGE recommends getting to the show early as tickets go quickly. The shows are not for children due to occasional mature subject matter.
