Employee Excellence Award nominations sought

Nominations for the 2003-2004 President’s Employee Excellence Awards are now being accepted.

The Washington State University President’s Employee Excellence Awards Program recognizes outstanding contributions to the university by WSU administrative professionals and classified employees from across the state.

Three awards are given annually. Each recipient is awarded a plaque and a cash award provided by the WSU Foundation. Last year, award recipients were Dwayne Dehlbom, Department of History, Michele Hitzroth from the Business Office at WSU Tri-Cities, and Ronald Nugen, Institute of Biological Chemistry. Names of all winners are inscribed on a plaque that is permanently housed on the third floor of the French Administration Building.

Awardees will be selected based on a review of nominations and the recommendations of the President’s Employee Excellence Awards Committee. Nominations should focus on the outstanding contributions made by the employee regarding productivity of the unit; innovative problem solving; positive working relations with students, the public and co-workers; and community service.

For more information or to submit your nomination online, go to http://www.wsu.edu/president/excellence-awards. Please limit your comments to 500 words or less. As nominees are evaluated, supporting documents and other endorsements will be sought out. Employees who have been nominated previously may be nominated again. Nominations may be submitted online or sent to the attention of Tena Old, Office of Marketing Communications, 440 French Administration Building, Pullman, Washington 99164-1042, no later than December 15, 2003.
