PULLMAN, Wash. — The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Celebration Committee seeks nominations from Washington State University, the University of Idaho and Pullman-Moscow community members for the 2004 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Distinguished Service Awards. Nomination deadline is Jan. 5.
The awards are given to individuals in the WSU, UI and greater community who have embraced and practiced the principles of unity, collective work and responsibility, purpose and self-determination. Recipients will have demonstrated their commitment to racial harmony, equality and equity for all in their activities and in their interaction with others.
“The awards are designed to recognize members of the community who work day-to-day on social justice and equality. For these people, it’s a lifestyle,” said Herb Delaney, chair for the 2004 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Celebration.
