VANCOUVER, Wash. — Christine Portfors, faculty member at Washington State University Vancouver, will present “Bats are Good Guys: Exploring Truths and Myths About Bats” at 7 p.m. Oct. 30 in the Student Services Building lecture hall.
Portfors, an assistant professor of biological sciences, will dispel popular folklore while discussing the beneficial role bats play in nature. For more than seven years, Portfors has studied how a bat’s brain processes sound and its connection to how humans process speech.
