PULLMAN, Wash. — R. Keith Campbell, professor of pharmacy at Washington State University, has been selected by the American College of Clinical Pharmacy as the second recipient of its Paul F. Parker Medal.
The award recognizes individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the pharmacy profession, and who, through their work, have improved patient or service outcomes, created innovative practices, impacted populations of patients, furthered the professional role of pharmacists and/or expanded the professional recognition of pharmacy as a health care profession.
“Throughout your career, you have excelled in every one of those areas,” the ACCP’s Executive Director Robert M. Elenbaas wrote in a letter to Campbell announcing the award.
Campbell will give a presentation at the opening ceremony of the ACCP’s annual meeting in Atlanta where he will receive the award Nov. 2. He also will lead an informal round-table discussion, “What Does It Take to Change Your Profession,” at a conference luncheon.
Campbell has been a member of the WSU College of Pharmacy faculty for the past 35 years where he is also the associate dean of students. To honor his contributions to diabetes education and to show its continued dedication, the college is raising funds to establish an endowed faculty position, the R. Keith Campbell Chair in Diabetes Care.
