PULLMAN, Wash. Students at Washington State University’s School of Music and Theatre Arts will perform the offbeat musical “Lucky Stiff” beginning July 18.
The show will run four nights July 18-19 and July 25-26 — in Bryan Hall Theater. Each performance begins at 8 p.m. Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for senior citizens and students. They can be purchased at the door before each show, beginning at 6 p.m.
The murder mystery farce revolves around Harry, a shy English shoe salesman who stands to inherit $6,000,000 from an uncle but must first take the uncle’s corpse on a week-long vacation to Monte Carlo. If he fails, the fortune goes to dog home in Brooklyn.
Julie Anne Wieck, a WSU faculty member in the School of Music and Theatre Arts, will direct the production with assistance from colleagues Keating Johnson and George Caldwell.
WSU student Mathew Lauckhart stars as the shy Harry. Other cast members include Jessica Abbott, Jessical Heilsberg, Tony Rosetti, Justin Smith, Andrew Mielke, Heather Raco, Mark Hansen, Christopher Wang, Eva McGowan and Kelli Legg. Musicians accompanying the vocalists are Sheila Zilar on piano; Kelly Cornwall, synthesizer; Rebecca Peterson, bass; and Eric Yahrmarkt, percussion.
