Free ‘Backyard Concerts’ Scheduled for June 20 and 21 at WSU Vancouver

VANCOUVER, Wash. — Washington State University Vancouver will sponsor two free concerts as part of the Columbian’s 7th annual ‘Backyard Concert Series’ from 7-9 p.m. Friday, June 20, and Saturday, June 21, at the campus’ outdoor amphitheater.

Misty Creek, a popular Americana vocal band featuring some of the Northwest’s finest instrumentalists, headlines the Friday evening concert with a rousing performance of traditional bluegrass. On Saturday evening, crowd pleaser Curtis Salgado delivers his eclectic mix of jazz, blues, gospel, soul and country and western.

Both concerts are free and open to the public. Picnics are permitted, however, alcohol and fire pits are not allowed at the event. WSU Vancouver Food Service will offer food and beverages for sale beginning at 6 p.m. Concerts begin promptly at 7 p.m., rain or shine. WSU Vancouver is located at 14204 NE Salmon Creek Ave.
