WSU Vancouver Presents “Spring Concert on the Plaza”

VANCOUVER, Wash. — Washington State University Vancouver’s Combined Community Choir will present “Spring Concert on the Plaza,” a free outdoor choral event, on Thursday, April 24, from 12:30-1 p.m.

The public is invited to bring a packed lunch or purchase a meal from the university’s cafeteria, relax at patio tables on the plaza (or sit on blankets brought from home) and enjoy a 30-minute choral presentation of international folk arrangements from countries such as Mexico, Africa and Japan. Choir accompanist Marc Noakes, a WSU Vancouver science professor, also will perform a variety of piano selections during the concert.

Lee Jennings, an adjunct professor in the College of Liberal Arts, serves as director of the year-old choir, which is comprised of about 20 WSU Vancouver staff, faculty, students and neighbors. Anyone who shares a love of music and enjoys performing at various campus venues is invited to join the organization.

For more information about the free event, call Bill Kelley at (360) 546-9702.
