Corcoran Joins Northwest Public Radio

PULLMAN, Wash. — A former co-publisher of the Wenatchee Business Journal has joined Northwest Public Radio, a service of Washington State University.

Jim Corcoran of Wenatchee will serve as an account executive in the network’s underwriting sales operation. Prior to working at the Wenatchee Business Journal, he owned Wenatchee radio stations KWWW-AM/FM. Corcoran also is the owner of the Wenatchee AppleSox baseball team.

Corcoran has a long involvement with NWPR. In addition to working there as a WSU student, his more recent involvement has been as a member of the network’s Community Advisory Board and its Development Cabinet.

NWPR is a 12-station network of public radio stations that serves listeners in Washington, Idaho, Oregon and British Columbia. Stations serving north central Washington are KNWR (90.7) Wenatchee/Ellensburg, KLWS (91.5) Moses Lake and KQWS (90.1) Omak. In addition, there are translators in Chelan (91.7) and Cashmere/Dryden (91.3).

Underwriting is a term used to describe non-commercial, on-air announcements about corporate, retail and non-profit businesses or organizations and their products, services and events. Businesses from throughout the region use NWPR as a cost-effective method for reaching new customers.
