Tree Planting to Honor WSU Seniors

PULLMAN, Wash. — The Washington State University Horticulture Club will plant a tree to honor graduating seniors at 9 a.m., Tuesday, April 30, at the WSU Arboretum next to the Lewis Alumni Centre.

The annual tradition began more than 15 years ago as a way to honor WSU’s seniors and as a beautification project for the university. The Horticulture Club will plant a “Fagus sylvatica” beech tree in the same general area as last year’s tree. WSU President V. Lane Rawlins is expected to say a few words at the event.

For more information, contact Larry Hiller, horticulture program, at (509) 335-3446.
