Blind Actor Performs ‘Weights’ at WSU April 25

PULLMAN, Wash. — A blind performer who lost his sight when an unknown attacker shot him will perform a one-man exploration of his life, “Weights,” at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, April 25, in Washington State University’s Compton Union Building Auditorium.

Lynn Manning, award-winning playwright, poet, athlete and actor, redirected his creative energies toward a career in literature and theatre arts after he was attacked in 1978. He has appeared on shows such as “Sienfeld,” “The Sinbad Show” and “Dream On.”

The performance is sponsored by the Associated Students of WSU, Disability Awareness Association, STAGES, the WSU Department of Theatre and Arts, and Multicultural Student Services, WSU Women’s Resource Center, and the Office of Human Relations and Diversity.
