PULLMAN, Wash. – Avista, Bonneville Power Administration, Hewlett-Packard, Sandia National Laboratories, Schweitzer Engineering Labs, Microsoft Inc., and some 30 other companies are expected at the annual Electrical Engineering Employment Exposition on Tuesday, Feb. 5, at Washington State University.
Representatives will be on hand from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the Engineering and Teaching Research Laboratory (ETRL) to talk with students about career options, internships, summer employment and permanent positions.
For students in the engineering disciplines, particularly electrical, mechanical, computer engineering and computer science, the event provides opportunities to look for internships or full-time jobs. The WSU chapter of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering sponsors the fair.
Along with a career fair, the annual Junior Dinner is also Monday. The event is free to all juniors in electrical engineering, computer science and computer engineering, and is an excellent chance to talk with people from industry about careers, industry trends and strategies for success in the job market. The majority of companies attending the event are companies in the power electrical engineering field. The dinner starts at 6 p.m. in the Compton Union Building ballroom and is sponsored by participating companies and the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. The student IEEE chapter is organizing the event.
