Multicultural Student Services Convocation Feb. 12

PULLMAN, Wash. — Washington State University employees, alumni and students will be honored during WSU’s Office of Multicultural Student Services 12th annual convocation at 5:30-7 p.m., Feb. 12, in the Compton Union Building ballroom.

Keynote speaker Victor Villanueva Jr., chair and a professor of WSU’s English department, will speak about considering “Multiculturalism a Polemic.”

Villanueva teaches rhetoric and composition studies. He is the winner of two national awards on research and scholarship and is the author of numerous articles. The Young Rhetoricians Conference named Villanueva Rhetorician of the Year in 1999. He also has served as the chair of the Conference on College Composition and Communication and has twice co-chaired the organization’s Winter Workshop.
