WSU Parent’s Program Awards $30,000

PULLMAN, Wash. — The Washington State University Parents’ Program awarded $30,000 in grants to 19 student organizations during the annual Dad’s Weekend Breakfast Nov. 3 in the Compton Union Building ballroom.

The Dad’s Weekend Committee and Mom’s Weekend Committee received $4,440 each, Intramural Sports, $4,000; Alive at WSU – New Student Orientation, $3,500, and Women’s Transit Program, $2,500. The Palouse Regional Crises Line and the Student Alumni Connection each received $1,250. Awards of $1,000 were earmarked for the Compton Union Gallery, Choral Company concert choir, Jazz Society, Madrigal Singer, Men’s Crew Team and YMCA Big Buddy Program.

Other organization receiving funds included the Women’s Volleyball Club and Women’s Fastpitch Softball Club, $550 each; Cougar Day at the Capital and YWCA of WSU, $500 each; Bowling Club, $400; and Mortar Board, $200.
