PULLMAN, Wash. — National Public Radio President and Chief Executive Kevin Klose cancelled a Sept. 21 visit to the Washington State University campus because of uncertainty over air travel.
Klose had planned to discuss the future of public broadcasting as well as attend a number of events on campus, including meeting with media and WSU President V. Lane Rawlins.
While the cancellation is disappointing, it is understandable given the circumstances, said Roger Johnson, Northwest Public Radio station manager.
“Kevin clearly regretted having to make this decision. He said he looks forward to coming out some other time,” Johnson said.
NPR is a nonprofit news and cultural radio programming service with 600 stations nationwide. It serves a weekly audience of nearly 15 million listeners. NWPR is a service of WSU.
