WSU Seeks Nominations for Council on Climate

PULLMAN, Wash. — Washington State University is seeking nominations for members of a new Council on Campus Climate. President V. Lane Rawlins has called for the establishment of the council and charged it with developing an action plan for dealing with intolerance, violence, racism and other issues affecting the university climate at WSU.

Milton Lang, of the WSU College of Education, has been appointed by the president to chair the council. Lang is accepting nominations for members through Friday, Sept. 29. An ad hoc nominating committee that includes students, faculty and staff will then screen the names submitted.

The nominating committee is seeking individuals with demonstrated leadership ability and who are willing to work toward challenging goals. Students, faculty and staff will be considered.

Nominations should include a short explanation of the nominee’s qualifications, what he or she would bring to the council and any constituency the person represents.

Please send nominations by e-mail to Milton Lang at mlang@mail.wsu.edu or drop them off in the dean’s area reception desk in Cleveland Hall.
