Carlson Named Associate Director and Director

PULLMAN, Wash. — Deborah Carlson has been named associate director of
capital budgeting and director of space management at Washington State
University. The appointment is part of a reorganization being conducted in
anticipation of the arrival of new university President Lane Rawlins.

Carlson has been at WSU in various financial positions since 1987. She most
recently served as director of budget and resource planning for the office of
the provost. Carlson will continue to work with the provost and deans on
budget issues.

“Deborah not only brings to the central budget office experience in budgeting,
but also a great knowledge of the budget needs in academic areas,” said Karl
Boehmke, executive director of budget and planning.

Boemke says the reorganization of budget services is designed to increase
efficiency. He says the move will bring various planning, operating and capital
budgeting functions under a single department.
