Comedians to Perform for Dad’s Weekend

PULLMAN, Wash. — Comedians Ross Shafer and George Miller will appear for a special Dad’s Weekend Comedy Concert Oct. 30 at Washington State University’s Beasley Performing Arts Coliseum.
Shafer, a Pacific Northwest native and resident of Seattle, has appeared on comedy shows such as “Evening at the Improv,” “Comic Strip Live” and “The ‘A’ List.” During the mid-1980s, he hosted the Emmy award-winning Seattle comedy show “Almost Live” and an afternoon radio show on Seattle’s KJR. Shafer was a regular contributor to Dick Clark’s “T.V. Bloopers and Practical Jokes.” He has published a comedy cookbook called “Cook Like A Stud,” which includes 38 recipes men can prepare in the garage with their own tools. Recently, he has been writing comedy-based customer service films and has written two feature films.
Miller is a regular on the Reno/Las Vegas comedy circuit and plans his performances around pool tournaments and appearances on “The David Letterman Show.” Miller has appeared on Letterman’s show more than 70 times and NBC’s “The Tonight Show” at least 30 times since his first appearance in 1976. One reviewer said Miller’s success on late night television shows is “his affable manner mixed with his sardonic wit that leaves audiences wanting more.”
Tickets for the 8 p.m. show are $10 and can be purchased at Beasley Coliseum, at all G&B Select-A-Seat outlets or by calling 800/325-SEAT.
