Celebrating Gift of Diversity Theme of Sept. 20 WSU Multicultural Convocation

PULLMAN, Wash. — “Celebrating the Gift of our Diversity” is the theme of Washington
State University’s 10th Multicultural Convocation and reception.
Open to the public, it will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Sept. 20 in the Carey Ballroom of WSU’s
Compton Union Building.
During the annual event, multicultural students, faculty and staff will be welcomed to the
WSU community, and supporters of the Office of Multicultural Student Services will be
recognized, said Herb Delaney, multicultural community relations assistant director. Also, new
multicultural student mentors and Council of Multicultural Student Presidents members will be
introduced.
A program highlight will be the presentation of faculty/staff, graduate student and
undergraduate student of the year awards honoring those who have demonstrated their
commitment to achieving diversity at WSU.
