Comedy Show Due Oct. 27 at WSU’s Beasley Coliseum

PULLMAN, Wash. — Actor Tim Behrens brings a one-man stage show, “Pat McManus, Endlessly Grousing,” prepared by author Patrick F. McManus, to Washington State University’s Beasley Coliseum Oct. 27.
During the performance, set for 7:30 p.m., Behrens will portray more than 12 different characters from McManus’ comedy works. He will relive the writer’s pot shots at just about every subject under the sun with the keen perspective of someone who has lived his whole life learning to complain.
The performance will contain new material from “Endlessly Grousing,” as well as situations from McManus’ previous books, “A Fine and Pleasant Misery” and “McManus in Love.”
McManus has written three stage plays and 13 books. He writes regularly for the New York Times, “Reader’s Digest,” “TV Guide,” “Sports Illustrated,” “Field and Stream” and “Outdoor Life.”
Behrens has performed all of McManus’s stage plays. The local Spokane actor/writer has also performed in various stage plays and has been the voice for numerous audio books. Behrens was the marketing director from 1990-93 for Books In Motion, a Spokane-based bookstore.
Tickets, $5-$14.50 for adults, $5-$12.50 for seniors and $5-$7.50 for students, can be ordered by calling the coliseum box office, 509/335-1514, or any G&B Select-a-Seat outlet at 800/325-SEAT.
Also scheduled this fall at Beasley Coliseum are comedians Ross Shafer and George Miller on Oct. 31, Big Bird’s Friendship Club on Nov. 3, an evening of swing by Big Bad Voodoo Daddy on Nov. 5, the Holiday Arts and Crafts Fair on Nov. 6-7, the Gershwin masterpiece “Porgy and Bess” on Nov. 9, and country singer Pam Tillis on Dec. 16.
