PULLMAN, Wash. — Two Pullman Transit routes will extend Saturday service to offer rides before and after Washington State University football games.
Ron Thornton, transit manager, said Routes A and D will be served until at least one hour following the end of a home football game. For tomorrow’s (Sept. 5) WSU-Illinois game, buses will run until 8:20 p.m.
A Route covers the north side of Pullman — College and Military Hills and downtown Pullman. D Route covers the Bookie, Sunnyside and Pioneer Hill areas.
The regular Pullman Transit Saturday schedule, which was recently renewed, has the routes served from 9:20 a.m.-4:50 p.m.
“Riders will find the buses covering all parts of the community,” Thornton said.
WSU is adding support to the extended bus service so there will be no charge to faculty, staff and students. Last year, more than 1,800 riders were shuttled to or from football games in transportation arranged by the WSU Visitor Center at the Cougar Depot. Parking and a bus stop are near to the center.
On home-game Saturdays, the Visitor Center is open from 8 a.m. to kickoff, and opens again during the fourth quarter until about an hour after the game.
