PULLMAN, Wash. — Washington State University graduate student Douglas Ouellette will give a vocal recital of Joseph Haydn and Vincent d’Indy pieces Sept. 15. The 8 p.m. program is set for WSU’s Bryan Hall Auditorium and is open to the public without charge.
The tenor will also present a collection of Spanish art songs by Fernando Obradors, a set of 20th century pieces by American composer Ned Rorem, and music from the Broadway musical, “Jekyll & Hyde.”
Ouellette, of Kennewick, earned an undergrduate degree in social sciences from WSU and currently is working on a master’s degree in choral conducting. Julie Wieck, a WSU faculty member in the School of Music and Theatre Arts, is Ouellett’s voice instructor. Pianist Amy Bland is accompanist for the program.
The vocalist graduated from Kennewick High School in 1992. His parents are Danial and Anita Coffman of Kennewick.
