Wieck Concert Begins Fall Program Series Sept. 3

PULLMAN, Wash. — A vocal concert by Washington State University music faculty member Julie Anne Wieck opens a series of performances this fall at the university.
Wieck’s 8 p.m. recital is set for Thursday, Sept. 3, at Bryan Hall Auditorium, and is open to the public without charge. She will be accompanied by faculty pianists Susan Chan and Gerald Berthiaume.
She will be singing two songs and an operatic aria by Gioacchino Rossini, a set of French melodies by Gabriel Faure, “Cuatro Madrigales Amatorios” by Joaquin Rodrigo, four songs from the “Spanisches Liederbuch” by Hugo Wolf, and three songs by Lee Hoiby.
Wieck, a member of the faculty since 1996, teaches studio voice, diction, opera workshop and opera history at WSU. She is an active member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing and the Music Educators National Conference.
