PULLMAN, Wash.–George A. Hedge, a candidate for the position of vice provost for research at Washington State University, will visit campus June 17-19.
Hedge will meet with administrators, faculty and staff; tour research facilities; and deliver an open seminar presentation on “Your Vision for the Research Mission at WSU,” Friday, June 19, at 2:15 p.m. in Murrow Communications Center, Room 53.
The associate dean for research and graduate studies at the West Virginia School of Medicine, Hedge also is a professor of physiology and acting chair of the physiology department.
He received a bachelor’s degree in biology education in 1961 and master’s degree in pharmacology, both from the University of Missouri. He earned a doctorate in physiology from Stanford University.
Hedge was a member of the faculty at the University of Arizona College of Medicine from 1968-77, and then joined WVU, where he was named the first recipient of the Edward J. van Liere Professorship.
